MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

Purpose

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is a response to Section 54(1), Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and relates to actions and activities for the financial year ending April 2022.

Suits and Boots Ltd is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking violations in its own operations and its supply chain (i.e. our clients). We have zero-tolerance towards slavery and require our supply chain to comply with our values.

Organisational structure

Suits and Boots has business operations in the United Kingdom only, and we operate in the recruitment sector. We pride ourselves on providing the best recruitment services and consulting to our clients. To do so we act with integrity and fairness. Our staff are committed to eradicating the threat of human trafficking and slavery.

Any concerns should be reported as soon as practically possible to the Office Manager. Any questions with regards to the scope, interpretation or operation within this policy should also be directed to the Office Manager.

Policies

We operate several internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner and conduct appropriate checks on all staff and clients to ensure they can legally work in the United Kingdom. All internal policies to ensure continued compliance are reviewed at least annually.

Internal policies include the following:

  • Recruitment and Selection Policy - This policy is managed by the Office Manager and sets out our commitment to equality of opportunity in recruitment, selection, promotion in all areas of employment. As part of the selection, we will conduct checks on all staff to ensure they can legally work in the United Kingdom.

  • Whistleblowing Policy – This sets out how we are committed to prompting high standards of openness and accountability. Our whistleblowing policy is available for all staff to view on our intranet and is communicated annually. It sets out how complaints can be made, including the ability for these to be made anonymously.

  • Procurement & Outsourcing Policy – Suits & Boots will continue to comply with the act in respect of our relationship with all our suppliers. To operate successfully, we may acquire goods or services from a third-party source. Our supplier agreements include the modern slavery clauses which the supplier must agree before work is carried out.

  • Cultures & Values Policy – This policy is designed to ensure that Suits and Boots conducts business responsibly. We are committed to ensure that all staff understand the company’s values and culture, and positively implement these values in and out of work.

Risk and Compliance

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, we have adopted various due diligence procedures that are reviewed annually.

Our due diligence procedures aim to:

  • Identify and action potential risks in our business and supply chains.

  • Monitor potential risks in our business and supply chains

  • Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains.

The Company has evaluated the nature and extent of its exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in its UK supply chain through the following checks:

  • Valid Passports

  • DBS checks

  • CSCS cards for all onsite workers

  • Right To Work documents (includes National Insurance, Passport, Driving License)

We consider that we operate in a high-risk environment because we can source candidates from outside the UK.  We do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. Where there is evidence of failure to comply with our policies and procedures by any of our suppliers or clients, we will investigate any allegations and take necessary action.

Effectiveness

The Company uses Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure its effectiveness and ensure that every effort is made to avoid human trafficking and slavery. Training will be provided to all new and existing staff, and they will be made aware of any changes. Refresher training will be provided at least annually.

The statement was approved by the board of directors.
