First and foremost, we would like to thank all our new and existing clients for trusting us to find and place out new candidates in 2022. As a new start firm, we are grateful that you chose us as your go to recruiter, and we look forward to working together in 2023 and beyond. To all our candidates that start new roles this year, we wish you all the best of luck in your new adventures.
Suits and Boots was founded in 2022, so although we are still in our infancy, we already have built solid relationships with our clients and have successfully helped our clients place out quality candidates in and around the UK.
There was a lot of concern that 2022 would impact the construction industry negatively with a challenging economic climate following the aftermath of the pandemic. Although the construction sector slowed down in 2022, it still made opportunity for those job seeking in this sector. More workers were required on sites to enable projects to be completed on time and within budget, and with the government pledge to lower emissions / carbon footprint more money has been allocated to infrastructure which in turn created more jobs and opportunities.
We also faced a year of public sector strikes and material shortages, all of which contributes to the overall ‘health’ or our economy. Inflation worries, rising interest rates, all add pressure to the construction industry. Although activity in the construction industry remains at a historically high level, it will be no doubt impacted by these shifts.
Looking ahead to this year, I think there are signs of recovery from the disruptions from the pandemic, and companies are working hard to recover and renew. Whilst there are still issues stemming from Brexit, we believe this creates opportunity for fresh talent in terms of apprenticeships and new.
This year, Suits & Boots are committed to our work with local colleges and local businesses so we can help those starting out in a career within construction and infrastructure. It is important to us at Suits and Boots to encourage fresh new talent, whilst focussing on growing our local economy.
